National Chaplain goes to Rome for Conference
Fr John Marsland, our National YCW Chaplain, is in Rome taking part in a CIJOC (International Co-ordination of YCW) Chaplains conference. He takes with him the many experiences and realities of young workers and young people from YCW and Impact! across England and Wales.
Believe in Yourself!
Young people from some of the Preston Impact! groups organised a weekend around the theme: ‘Believe in Yourself!’ at Castlerigg retreat centre, recently. They led sessions, discussions and reflections and had great fun together! Thanks to Terry, Andy and Fr Mark who accompanied them.
Homelessness Help!
IMPACT! members from St John Henry Newman parish, Flixton, have been looking into the issue of Homelessness. Their recent action was a sleep-out in temperatures that froze their sleeping bags, giving them a glimpse of the conditions so many experience daily. They designed t-shirts to sell and got sponsored by family, friends and parishioners. So far, they have raised a massive £1400 for local homeless charities! IMPACT! : Young People Making a Difference!
Gathering of the Groups
Great energy as YCW groups gathered recently, in Manchester, to share the actions they’ve taken to make a difference in their local communities. Inspired by and learning from each other; wanting to collaborate more. Amazing leadership shown as young people chaired the event, lead presentations and lead others as group leaders in St Antony’s Centre (https://www.stantonyscentre.org.uk/). Wonderful reflection in St. Antony's Church about linking faith and life through action as YCW leaders. The roof was raised with fantastic singing!

The YCW was thrilled to be part of the Annual Day with Archbishop Bernard Longley for Ethnic Chaplaincies, Eparchies and Missions in the Archdiocese!
